At Sphinx International Airport, the airport operator and airlines provide free services for passengers with reduced mobility. These services include guidance outside and inside the terminal, wheelchair assistance, specially supervised processes, physical infrastructure arrangements and free airline services.
Pre-Arrival Services: Be sure to let us know the type of assistance you need before you arrive at the airport. At least 48 hours before your flight, you can contact the relevant airline or airport support unit to make a reservation for a wheelchair, a companion request or any other special requirement. The staff can then plan according to your arrival time at the airport.
Meeting Points: ‘Help Station’ signs are located in all terminal zones for passengers with reduced mobility.
Support Staff: Airport management has personnel who have completed training in accordance with PRM (Persons with Reduced Mobility) standards. This team assists you at all stages before and after boarding, from baggage handling to passport control.
Equipment: All passageways within the terminal are equipped with ramps, wide doors and lift platforms for easy wheelchair mobility. In addition, electric golf carts are available at the airport to take you from the terminal entrance to the aircraft for use on request.
Guidance and Escort: Staff at the airport will provide passengers with up-to-date information on flight schedules, transfer information and services within the terminal. After the delivery of your luggage, the attendant will assist you until you board the aircraft.
Wheelchair and Guidance Assistance
Out of Terminal and In-Terminal Assistance
For passengers with reduced mobility, wheelchair support is provided free of charge from the terminal entrance to the aircraft. The attendant accompanies the passenger until boarding the aircraft.
You must notify the relevant airline or airport customer service at least 48 hours before your flight. It is sufficient to identify yourself as a disabled passenger. There is also no charge.
Persons with Reduced Mobility Services
There is a special check-in counter section for passengers in the ‘PRM’ class at the SPX terminal. The staff on duty here ensures that all steps from passport and security procedures are carried out quickly and comfortably.
For arrival and transit passengers, the immigration desk at the airport entrance gives priority to PRM passengers. Fast passage is provided without waiting in long queues.
Physical Infrastructure Arrangements
There are discounted parking areas reserved for disabled vehicles in front of the terminal. These areas are located closest to the main entrance gate. There are lift platforms and ramps for disabled access at all access points from entrance ramps, baggage check points and security screening to aircraft gates.
In each section of the terminal, there are accessible toilets with a wide usage area and equipped with disabled facilities. These toilets are suitable for passengers with reduced mobility.
